U9's record big win against Rotherham Rangers

Posted by admin on November 4, 2013

After an up and down run of games in the the cup it was back to the league fixtures with a bang with our biggest win of the season (so far) 12 - 5 against Rotherham Rangers. Both teams played brilliantly and looked like they were well up for it!

Our two captains Flynn and Kian led by example and each got on the score sheet with some brilliantly taken goals
a hat trick for Kian in team 1 and a hat trick for Flynn in team 2.

Kian as always gave it is all and was a deserved winner of Man of the Match for team 1, both could have had more!!!

Jake & Henry were solid at the back, Matthew & Ellis were introduced at half time and were steady, Matthew is getting better game by game, great determination, Harrison Lee was also rewarded with his first Goal for the club after scoring an excellent poachers goal just rewards for his efforts and tireless running.

Jake Taylor was also on target scoring twice, his link up play with Kian & Sam was great, and again he showed some great skill and trickery I think we may have found a new strike strike force!  Sam was unlucky not to score hitting the post, it will come im sure.

I was over the moon with how Flynn took charge on the pitch and proved he is an excellent captain, talking to and organising the boys in his team!

Also adding their names to the scoresheet were William Squires with a lovely goal and Matt Morris earned Man of the Match in team 2 for his excellent effort and brace of goals and passing.

All the boys were magnificent especially Billy Taylor who slotted into team 2 seamlessly he had a great game and was unlucky not to score, well done Billy, keep it up.

Lewis again with Luke further cemented their defensive partnership with yet another excellent display, & in Owen we have the best corner taker, left foot like a canon! Finally the 2 keepers didn’t have that much to do, which is a good sign that the defence in both teams is doing its job!

All I ask is we keep putting in the effort and listen and we won’t go far wrong.

Our next game is against AFC Dronfield a team we have played and drawn against twice, (let’s see if we can turn them over this time) so far 3 league games, 1 loss, 1 draw and 1 win, we then play Rotherham Rangers Away and finish with Stocksbridge before the winter break...

Let’s see if we can go on a little run!!!! Keep it up boys were all proud of you. Rich.
