Solid win away at Wath Stars for U10 Black

Posted by admin on November 12, 2013

The Spartans returned to league action after a few weeks off and ran home easy winners away at Wath Stars.

The boys showed their intentions right from the off with 3 quickfire goals.

The first was a penalty dispatched by Alfie, followed by his and the Spartans 2nd with an assist from Sam. Alfie then returned the favour for Sam to make it 3-0 and that's how it stayed going into half time.

The 2nd half kicked off with a questionable decision from the ref who pointed to the spot saying that Josh had handled the ball. The Wath player stepped up to score past James who was unlucky not to save it.

The Spartans continued applying pressure after the penalty and Sam once again passed in to Alfie to claim his hat-trick. Sam then set up Rmaraye up for his 1st and the Spartans were cruising at 5-1.

Wath then grabbed their 2nd with another soft penalty awarded after Pav appeared to have made a good tackle.

Bettsy got on the score sheet to make it 6-2 just seconds after hitting the bar with a cracking left footed shot.

Rmaraye then returned the favour to Sam by setting him, up for goal number 7.

The final goal of the game was probably the best as Rmarye turned and smashed the ball into the roof of the net to make it 8-2 and a good day at the office.

All in all it was a decent performance from the black team but they need to be a little more consistent with their passing game.
