Shocking weather, easy win

Posted by admin on March 8, 2012

The second meeting in a week away at Porter saw the boys run up a large win in what can only be described as SHOCKING weather conditions.

Heavy rain at the start and a blizzard at the end - easily the worst conditions of the season.

The Spartans started with a goal in the first minute or so, and went on from there, dominating the game in all positions. A healthy half time lead brought a change of goalie for the Spartans with James getting his first run out of the season as an outfield player and goals coming from all quarters. SOme of the best football came when the boys were trying to tee James up for a goal. The game finished with a huge lead.

Game two started in more snow than rain, and got worse from there. Again dominance from the Spartans brought goals and nothing for KIan in goal to do except try and keep warm. His biggest contribution was to run the length of the pitch and score a penalty! Again a change of goalie at half time - still none of the Spartans goalies had touched the ball yet. The final whistle could not come soon enough for Porter and when it did there were some very cold and wet players.

Good luck to the Porter team for the rest of the season - a great bunch of kids with lots of potential.
