League wins the Regional Charter Standard League Award

Posted by admin on July 27, 2012

The FA Community awards sponsored by McDonalds aim to recognise and reward people across the country who make a difference to grassroots football in their local community – the people who dedicate their time to developing tomorrow’s young talent and help ensure safety and best practice in tens of thousands of clubs up and down the country.

The awards offer a chance to all those involved in grassroots football to shout about the person, or team of people that have made a real difference to their experience whilst playing or just being involved in the beautiful game. Winners are awarded at a local, county and national level.

Following on from the Rosehill Press Sheffield & District Junior League winning the FA Respect Award at Silver level and just missing out on Gold award, the League was proud to be informed on Thursday that they have received the Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA and also the Regional Charter Standard League Award for the North East and Yorkshire.

The award recognises the ability of leagues to provide a high quality, safe and enjoyable football experience against a set standard of criteria based around six key areas, which includes the retention and growth of the number of teams, raising standards of behaviour and developing better players.

This is a fantastic accolade for the league and praise must go to everyone concerned.

The League Secretary, who as many know, is also the Club Secretary for Bessacarr FC in Doncaster, had another reason to celebrate as his club won the SHCFA Charter Standard Community Club award for the second year running.

The Rosehill Press Sheffield & District Junior League will now be consider for the national award and a panel will decide on the winners at the end of August.
